Kwara partners Al-Hikmah University to establish teaching hospital

Historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing set to revolutionize healthcare and education in Kwara as Government partners with Al-Hikmah University to establish a Teaching Hospital in the institution.

This strategic partnership aims to foster public-private collaboration, advancing healthcare and tertiary education in the state. The signing ceremony took place at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) of the State Ministry of Health.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, hailed the occasion as a pivotal moment, emphasizing the state government’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare and sustainable education under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership.

“This MoU bridges the gap between the public and private sectors, prioritizing the overall development of Kwara State,” Dr. El-Imam said.

Dr. Mary Arinde, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, highlighted education’s role in driving technological advancement and skill acquisition. “This collaboration will produce highly skilled doctors and healthcare professionals, meeting the growing demand for health personnel in Kwara State.”

Al-Hikmah University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sikirullahi Nurudeen, welcomed the partnership, acknowledging the government’s progress in the health sector. “We are committed to delivering on our promises, further improving health outcomes across the state.”

The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Alhaja Afusat Adenike Ibrahim, and the Executive Secretary of the Kwara Hospital Management Board, Dr. Malik Abdulraheem.

This partnership is expected to enhance the healthcare and education sectors in Kwara State, benefiting the community and promoting sustainable development.
