The Abia State chapter of the APC has granted unconditional pardon to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Hon. Chris Nkwonta and other members accused of anti-party activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
The decision followed a post-primaries review and reconciliation meeting in Umuahia, where party leaders urged members to put past disagreements aside and work together to strengthen the APC.
State Chairman Chijioke Chukwu said Kalu and Nkwonta explained that their controversial actions were driven by dissatisfaction with party processes rather than an intention to undermine the APC.
The party, however, warned that it would maintain zero tolerance for future acts of indiscipline, disloyalty and anti-party activities. It also urged aggrieved members to use internal party structures rather than the media to resolve their grievances.
The development comes after the APC had issued a 14-day ultimatum to Kalu and Nkwonta over alleged comments supporting Labour Party Governor Alex Otti’s 2027 re-election bid.
