The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kaduna State Chapter, has cautioned young Nigerians against aligning with activist Omoyele Sowore, warning that his alleged agenda poses a threat to national stability.

The Council’s warning follows reports of a planned nationwide demonstration tagged #FreeNnamdiKanuNow, reportedly linked to Sowore and coming in the wake of the recent security advisory issued by the U.S. Embassy.

In a statement issued by its Chairman, Comrade Umar Abubakar, the NYCN emphasised that while peaceful protest is a constitutional right, any activity capable of disrupting public order or undermining national unity must be resisted.

Abubakar urged Nigerian youths to prioritise dialogue, peace, and national cohesion over what he described as the “manipulative tactics of conflict entrepreneurs who profit from chaos.”
