Think Yoruba First has strongly condemned the horrific kidnapping attacks on three schools in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, where armed Fulani militants reportedly killed a teacher and a local motorcycle rider, and abducted principals, teachers, and students from LA School Ahoro-Esiele, Community Grammar School Ahoro-Esiele, and Baptist Nursery and Primary School Yawota.

The group expressed deep outrage over the worsening insecurity in the South-West, warning that innocent Yoruba communities continue to live in fear due to armed criminal groups operating within forests and rural settlements.

TYF called on the Federal Government to intensify rescue operations and bring the perpetrators to justice. The group also reiterated its demand for the immediate establishment of State Police and comprehensive constitutional restructuring to empower indigenous communities to secure their lives, lands, and property.

“Effective security can only be achieved through structures that understand the local terrain, language, culture, and realities of the communities they are meant to protect,” TYF stated.

The group urged President Bola Tinubu, Yoruba political leaders, traditional rulers, and stakeholders to support urgent security reforms.
