Photos: NRC Refutes Vandalisation of Lagos-Ibadan Standard Gauge Rail Line, Assures Public of Track Safety

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has debunked reports of vandalism on the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail line, describing a recently circulated video as misleading, outdated, and not reflective of the current state of the rail infrastructure.

In a statement released on Saturday, the NRC clarified that the video, which resurfaced on social media, captures a past incident that has since been resolved. The Corporation emphasized that there is no current threat to the safety or integrity of the rail tracks.

NRC reassured the public that robust security measures are in place to protect the rail infrastructure, and that regular maintenance and surveillance operations are being conducted along the Lagos-Ibadan corridor.

The Corporation urged Nigerians to disregard the video and avoid spreading misinformation that could undermine public confidence in the rail system.
