Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has criticized Arise TV journalist Rufai Oseni for comments he made regarding the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.

Umahi described Oseniโ€™s statements as misleading and disrespectful, accusing the journalist of spreading โ€œdamaged informationโ€ about the projectโ€™s cost and implementation.

โ€œI was very displeased by the number of damaged information that Rufai dished out to the public. Rufai was very wrong when he said I was struggling to provide figures on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway cost. That is very disrespectful,โ€ Umahi said.

The ministerโ€™s remarks come amid ongoing debates over the funding and transparency of the multi-billion-naira highway project, which aims to improve connectivity along Nigeriaโ€™s southern corridor.

The comments have sparked discussions on media reporting standards and accountability in large-scale infrastructure projects.
