The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has announced that the Nigerian military now operates a second depot to expand its training capacity.

According to the CDS, the new depot, located in Osogbo, Osun State, will serve as the southern counterpart to the long-standing training depot in Zaria, Kaduna State. He explained that the establishment of the Osogbo facility is part of efforts to decentralize military training, strengthen recruitment, and make the process more accessible to candidates across the country.

β€œWith the depots in both Zaria (North) and Osogbo (South), we are ensuring that training and enlistment into the Armed Forces is more balanced, accessible, and better structured to meet Nigeria’s security needs,” General Musa stated.

He noted that the development aligns with the military’s ongoing massive recruitment drive, which seeks to bring in more personnel to address the nation’s security challenges.

The CDS further stressed that both depots will uphold the same high standards of discipline, professionalism, and patriotism in molding recruits.
