Two suspected kidnappers allegedly found carrying membership identity cards of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria have been neutralised by personnel of the Nigerian Navy during a security operation in Kogi State.

Sources told SaharaReporters that the incident occurred late Tuesday night along the Inele–Inabe Road in Olamaboro Local Government Area during a routine patrol by naval operatives deployed to the axis following repeated cases of kidnapping and armed robbery.

The suspects were intercepted while allegedly attempting to carry out a kidnapping operation and reportedly engaged the operatives in a gun battle, during which they were fatally injured.

Photographs obtained by SaharaReporters show the deceased suspects wearing military-style camouflage uniforms. Identity cards bearing the name and logo of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association were also recovered from them.

Security sources said investigations are ongoing to verify the authenticity of the identity cards and determine whether the suspects were part of a wider criminal network operating in Kogi State and neighbouring areas.

The development comes amid rising insecurity in parts of Kogi, particularly Yagba East and Yagba West local government areas, where residents have reported recent attacks, kidnappings and farm-related abductions.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from the Nigerian Navy or the Kogi State Government.
