A member of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association has been arrested by the Nigerian Police in Kwara State after he was allegedly found in possession of a rifle while attempting to exit the state.

A source said the suspect was intercepted during a routine police patrol while riding a motorcycle. He was searched and a rifle was allegedly recovered from him.

Preliminary investigations reportedly identified the suspect as a Miyetti Allah member. He was transferred to the Kwara State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Ilorin, where he is currently being detained.

The source claimed the suspect was wearing a black vest bearing the Miyetti Allah vigilante logo and allegedly confessed that the rifle was issued by the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) in collaboration with the Kwara State Government.

As of the time of filing this report, the Kwara State Government and the police had not issued an official statement. Investigations are ongoing.
