Drama occured when a car buyer named Henry disappeared with a Mercedes Benz GLB 250 worth over N55 million during a test drive in Abuja.

The car dealer, Mohammed Manga, had sent a friend who also works in the car-selling business to show the vehicle to Henry, a potential customer. After negotiating the price, Henry requested a test drive and was accompanied by Manga’s friend. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when Manga’s friend stepped out of the car to withdraw money for fuel. Henry, who was in the driver’s seat, quickly seized the opportunity and drove off the car to an undisclosed location.

Manga shared his account of the incident, explaining that his friend had taken the Mercedes Benz GLB 250 to his office, where Henry, claiming to be from Gwarinpa and having seen the car on an online marketplace, expressed interest in purchasing it. He further stated that after negotiating a price of N55 million, Henry requested a test drive.

While stopping at a filling station across from an automatic car wash in Garki to buy petrol before the test drive, Manga’s friend exited the vehicle to withdraw money from a Point of Sale (PoS) operator.

It was during this moment that Henry swiftly drove away with the car, taking advantage of the empty driver’s seat.

Manga promptly reported the incident to the Anti-Car Theft Unit, providing them with details of the stolen vehicle, which is a grey Mercedes Benz GLB 250 with a mileage of 19,000.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Ameh, confirmed the incident and assured that the police were actively pursuing the suspect. Efforts were underway to locate and apprehend him, the Police spokesperson said.
