The President of the Think Yoruba First (TYF) organization, Oladimeji Bolarinwa, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Nigeria’s national women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, following their outstanding performance at the ongoing Afrobasket tournament.

In a congratulatory post on X(@Aakakanfo) on Sunday, Bolarinwa praised the team for their resilience, teamwork, and unwavering determination, describing their success as a clear example of what Nigerian β€” and indeed Yoruba β€” women are capable of when given the right platform and support.

β€œD’Tigress have once again proven that Nigerian women can stand tall among the best in the world. As a Pan-Yoruba organization, we are especially proud of the Yoruba daughters on the team who have contributed to this achievement. This victory is not just for Nigeria, but for African women everywhere,” he said.

Bolarinwa further urged government and private stakeholders to invest more in women’s sports, stressing that such achievements should translate into broader opportunities for young female athletes across the nation.
