Ohanaeze to Drag FG to Court Over “Alleged” Marginalisation

October 25, 2023 1 min read

The President-General of the Igbo apex socio-cultural group Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has vowed to drag the federal government to court if it fails to adjust perceived marginalization of the South-East in ministerial appointments by the government.

Mr Iwuanyanwu who said this at a press conference in Owerri the Imo capital, described the action as unfair to the South-East region which only got five slots for ministerial appointments while other zones boasted of 10 ministers.

The President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo said the action contravened the federal character principle.

He also appealed to the Federal government to create additional states in the South-East to make the region have even share with other regions.
