The Kaduna State Governor, Sen. Uba Sanni, has taken significant steps to ensure the completion of ongoing projects in the state, while also promoting local economic growth.

During his official engagements in Beijing, China, the Governor met with the top management of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), a key partner handling various projects in Kaduna State.

The meeting, led by CCECC’s Global Vice President, Michael Jiang, provided an opportunity for Governor Sanni to commend the company on its return to site to complete outstanding projects.

The Governor emphasized the importance of utilizing local labor, stressing the need for CCECC to engage skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers from Kaduna State.

This move is expected to boost job creation and stimulate economic activity within the state.

Governor Sanni’s call for indigenous labor is particularly significant, considering the state’s high unemployment rates.

Governor Sanni discussed several key issues with the CCECC management team, including the completion of ongoing projects, local labor utilization, and the construction of the Hebei Industrial Park in Kaduna.

The CCECC management team assured Governor Sanni of their dedication to quality work and fostering a strong partnership with the state government.

By prioritizing local labor and promoting economic growth, Governor Sanni’s administration is taking proactive steps to ensure the benefits of these projects extend beyond infrastructure development to empower the community.

In the past, CCECC has demonstrated its commitment to local engagement, with over 1,650 indigenous workers employed for various projects in Kaduna State, as of 2020.

This track record suggests a positive outlook for the Governor’s initiative.
