Fake JAMB Result: Innoson Automobile Withdraws Scholarship From Ejikeme

July 8, 2023 2 min read

Innoson Automobile Company, a Nigerian automobile manufacturer, has withdrawn the scholarship it offered to Mmesoma Ejikeme following the confirmation by the commission of inquiry set up by the Anambra State Government that she manipulated her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.

This was disclosed by Cornel Osigwe, the head of Corporate Communications and Affairs at Innoson Group.

The panel, consisting of eight members, set up by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, investigated the allegation levelled against Mmesoma by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) regarding her UTME result.

The panel’s eight-page report recommended that Mmesoma issue a written apology to JAMB, her school (Anglican Girls’ Secondary School, Uruagu Nnewi), and the state government. It also recommended that she undergo psychological counseling and therapy.

According to Osigwe, Innoson had been involved in the investigation of the allegations surrounding Mmesoma’s UTME results.

Reports of discrepancies in her scores prompted the company to seek clarification from JAMB and allow her to present her case to the committee set up by Governor Soludo.

In the light of the confirmed findings, Innoson made the difficult decision to withdraw the scholarship awarded to Mmesoma.

The company emphasized its commitment to honesty, integrity, and merit-based recognition.

While acknowledging the disappointment this decision may cause to Mmesoma’s supporters, including her school principal, Innoson stated the importance of upholding the integrity of its scholarship programme and the value it represented.

Innoson believes in rewarding exceptional students who not only demonstrate academic excellence but also embody the values of honesty, transparency, and respect for the educational system’s processes in Nigeria.
