Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Thursday paid an official visit to Oke Ode in Ifelodun Local Government Area, in response to recent security concerns raised by residents of the community.
The Governor, who was accompanied by top government functionaries and senior security officials, toured parts of the town to assess the situation and interact with the people.
During the visit, Governor AbdulRazaq reassured residents of his administration’s commitment to their safety and wellbeing. He stressed that security remains a top priority for the government, noting that measures are already being put in place to strengthen surveillance and improve rapid response to threats across vulnerable communities.
The Governor urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with security agencies by providing timely information that can help forestall any attack or breach of peace.
Local leaders and community members expressed appreciation for the Governor’s visit, describing it as a sign of solidarity and concern for the people of Oke Ode.
The visit comes amid growing anxiety in parts of Kwara over reported cases of banditry and attacks on rural communities, particularly in Ifelodun and neighboring local governments.
Governor AbdulRazaq assured that the state government will continue to work closely with security agencies to restore confidence and ensure that no part of Kwara is left unprotected.
