The Think Yoruba First (TYF) organization has announced that it is embarking on a legal battle against individuals of Igbo origin who, according to the group, are promoting historical distortions that ascribe the ancient Yoruba city of Ile-Ife to the Igbo people.

Speaking at a press briefing held yesterday, TYF leadership said the move became necessary after discovering that such claims were being published in books and other literatures circulated both in Nigeria and Europe.

The organization described the development as a deliberate attempt to rewrite history and undermine Yoruba heritage, vowing to pursue legal remedies against those involved.

β€œThe legal department of TYF and the leadership of TYF will be embarking on a long and arduous journey to make legal examples of these mischievous elements,” the group stated.

TYF also expressed appreciation to Yoruba people at home and abroad for their continued support, urging unity in defending the integrity of Yoruba civilization and cultural identity.
