Afenifere pays Tribute to late chief Cornelius Adebayo

A pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Cornelius O. Adebayo, a distinguished elder statesman and former Governor.

The delegation, led by Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, former Governor of Ondo State, visited the bereaved family at their Abuja residence to convey the organization’s heartfelt sympathies.

The Afenifere team described Chief Adebayo as a towering figure whose life was a testament to service, integrity, and commitment to the Yoruba nation and Nigeria.

According to Dr. Mimiko, “Baba lived a life of purpose, serving not only the Yoruba Nation, but the entire country, with uncommon patriotism. His wisdom, unalloyed commitment and courage will be sorely missed, especially at this critical time in our national life.”

The delegation prayed for the peaceful repose of Chief Adebayo’s soul and for God’s comfort and fortitude for the family.

Afenifere reiterated its resolve to uphold the values and vision for which Chief Adebayo stood.

The team, which included prominent Afenifere leaders, was received by the deceased’s family members, who expressed appreciation for the visit and thanked the organization for standing with them in their moment of grief.

Chief Cornelius O. Adebayo, a respected voice in Yoruba and national affairs, passed away recently at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of service and patriotism.
