Remembering the tragic loss of Ekiti Monarchs

It’s been over a year since the senseless killing of two revered Ekiti monarchs, Oba Olatunde Olusola (Onimojo of Imojo) and Oba Babatunde Ogunsakin (Elesun of Esun Ekiti), by gunmen.

The same perpetrators also attacked a school bus, abducting five pupils, three teachers, and the driver from Apostolic Faith Group of Schools.

In a significant breakthrough, five suspects were apprehended on January 30, 2024, for their involvement in this heinous crime:

  1. Usman Jelili
  2. Mohammed Bande
  3. Abubakar Aliu
  4. Isah Abdulaahi
  5. Suleiman Abdulaahi

Their arrest marked a crucial step towards justice for the victims and their families.

May the souls of the departed Ekiti monarchs, Oba Olatunde Olusola and Oba Babatunde Ogunsakin, continue to rest in peace.
