Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has alleged that popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, was arrested by security authorities at the Seme border while trying to escape to Benin Republic.

According to VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky was attempting to evade the House of Representatives’ investigative hearing into allegations of bribery.

The controversy surrounding Bobrisky began when VeryDarkMan released an audio recording of Bobrisky claiming to have bribed EFCC officials with N15 million.

Bobrisky also alleged that he didn’t serve his six-month jail term in Kirikiri prison due to his godfather’s influence. However, Bobrisky denied paying EFCC operatives N15 million bribe.

The House of Representatives launched an investigation into the allegations, but Bobrisky failed to appear before the committee, citing illness.

This development led to widespread criticism and raised questions about the authenticity of Bobrisky’s claims.

In response to the allegations, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board suspended four senior officers, including Michael Anugwa and Sikiru Adekunle, pending an investigation.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, also ordered an immediate investigation into the allegations, emphasizing the government’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption.

The incident has sparked heated debates about corruption and the effectiveness of the country’s justice system.

As the investigation unfolds, many are watching to see how the situation will be resolved.
