NSF 24: Babcock VC Assures Adequate Security

The Vice-Chancellor, Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo in Ogun State, Professor Ademola Tayo, has promised adequate security for athletes during the forthcoming National Sports Festival (NSF) tagged ‘Gateway Games 24’.

Babcock University has been picked as a games village to host over 12,000 athletes and officials.

Speaking during the inspection of the school facilities by the Main Organizing Committee (MOC), Professor Tayo who led the inspection team around the facilities assured that the institution had a good security network that could guarantee safety of the athletes while in the village.

He also disclosed that the athletes and their officials would not in any way lack power supply during their stay on the campus.

The vice-chancellor, who expressed sincere appreciation to the Federal Government for choosing the university as a games village to host such a big and national games said the institution would put in place all necessary plans to make the athletes comfortable.

“As we speak, we have enough hostels for both male and female athletes that will host the 12,000 athletes and their officials conveniently without having issues. We also boast of over 100 chalets in case there is a need for it”, he said, adding “Babcock believes so much in students living on campus, hence our determination to make sure our hostels are topnotch and we are not toying away from this. I can assure you eminent members of this team that we in Babcock are ready to host the athletes and I will also say that you should not hesitate to let us know where we need to make amendments if there is a need for.”

Dr. Soji Tayo, president of the Alumni Association of the institution, who midwived the choice of the institution as a games village for the games, echoed the vice-chancellor’s position on the facilities on ground.

Tayo said: ”Just as you have heard from our Vice Chancellor, we are working day and night to ensure safety and good accommodation facilities for the athletes. And we in Babcock are delighted to have the privilege of playing host to the athletes. “
