The Libyan national team, known as the Knights, has chosen the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi as the venue for their highly anticipated Matchday 4 encounter against Group D leaders, Nigeria’s Super Eagles, in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15th, at 8 pm Nigerian time, following the teams’ clash at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, October 11th.

Libya, currently at the bottom of Group D, seeks to revive their campaign after drawing 1-1 with Rwanda and losing 1-2 to Benin Republic in their opening two matches. Nigeria, with four points, leads the group after defeating Benin Republic 3-0 and drawing 0-0 with Rwanda.

The Super Eagles will aim to maintain their lead in the group, while Libya seeks to revive their campaign and move up the standings.

“Playing at home will give us an added advantage,” said Libya’s coach, Corey Benjamin. “We’re confident that our fans will rally behind us and push us to victory.”

Nigeria’s coach, Jose Peseiro, remains cautious, stating, “We respect Libya’s team and know that playing away will be challenging. We’ll prepare thoroughly to ensure we get the desired result.”

The match in Benghazi promises to be an intense encounter, with both teams fighting for crucial points in their quest to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

In related news, the Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that the Super Eagles will depart for Benghazi on October 13th, two days before the match.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers continue across the continent, with teams battling for spots in the prestigious tournament.
