A 16-year-old prodigy Yoruba son, Olamide Aderibigbe, has made waves in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by scoring an impressive 336 overall and 98% in Mathematics.

A student of Starville International School, Jabi, Abuja, Olamide also excelled in other subjects, scoring 86 in Physics, 68 in English, and 84 in Economics.

According to Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the 2025 UTME results revealed that 12,414 candidates out of over 1.9 million scored 300 and above.

Only 4,756 candidates managed to score 320 and above.

The results also showed that over 1.5 million candidates scored below 200, the average benchmark.

This year’s performance shows an improvement compared to the 2024 UTME, where only 8,000 candidates (0.5%) scored above 300 points out of 1.9 million candidates.

The 2025 UTME results were officially released to the public on Friday, showcasing the academic prowess of candidates like Olamide, who has set a high standard for others to follow.
