The Yoruba Self-Determination Movement (YSDM) is set to host a major summit in London, UK, on April 26, 2025, to push for secession from Nigeria.

The summit, themed “What Next?”, aims to produce concrete action plans for exiting the “Nigeria contraption.” Key leaders, including Prof. Banji Akintoye and Sunday Igboho, will attend.

The summit will focus on insecurity in Yoruba homeland, upcoming mass rallies, and concrete action plans for secession.

“What Next?” is the theme, and the event promises to be a significant step in the Yoruba Nation movement.

According to the organizers, the summit will feature discussions on “insecurity in Yoruba homeland, upcoming mass rally in Yoruba homeland and diaspora, and concrete action plans for exiting the Nigeria contraption.”

The event will be held at Ark Studio, Ark Walworth Academy, Shorncliffe Road, London SE1 5UJ, from 11am to 5pm.

The Yoruba Nation movement has been gaining momentum, with Sunday Igboho submitting a petition to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in October 2024, urging consideration of the secessionist movement in Nigeria.

The petition’s content was described as confidential, but sources indicated it centered on the “Yoruba Nation agitation.”

The summit’s attendees will include frontline Yoruba Nation agitators, such as Prof. Banji Akintoye, Sunday Igboho, David Malomo, Kayode Emola, Arakurin Seyi Olayode, and Arch. George Akinola.

They will discuss strategies for achieving their goal of establishing a nation predominantly for the indigenous Yoruba people.

“We want to produce concrete action plans for exiting the Nigeria contraption,” the organizers said.

The summit promises to be a significant step in the Yoruba Nation movement, with potential implications for Nigeria’s political landscape.
