The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has suspended Hadi Ahmad, the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), indefinitely with immediate effect.

This shocking move was announced on Thursday by Olalere Olayinka, Senior Special Adviser to the Minister on Public Communication and Social Media.

Although the reasons behind Ahmad’s suspension remain unclear, he has been directed to hand over the reins to the Director of Engineering Services in the FCDA.

Ahmad, who took office in December 2021, had vowed to restore the authority’s glory and promote a fair work environment.

As the 8th Executive Secretary of the FCDA, Ahmad had pledged to leverage his public service experience to engage with stakeholders and ensure a level playing field for all staff members.

The sudden suspension raises questions about the future of the FCDA and its projects under new leadership.
