A protest has erupted in Akure, Ondo State, following the gruesome killing of over 20 farmers by suspected herdsmen in Akure North Local Government Area over the weekend.

The protesters are also demanding justice for the kidnapping of 9 surveyors in Ilu-Abo, Akure South.

The protesters, who gathered in front of the Governor’s office in Akure, are calling on the authorities to take immediate action to address the rising insecurity in the region.

The killing of the farmers and the kidnapping of the surveyors have sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents expressing fear and outrage.

This protest is not an isolated incident, as there have been previous demonstrations in Ondo State against insecurity and violence.

Women in the state have protested half-naked over the killing of farmers by suspected herdsmen, demanding justice and an end to the attacks.

The protesters in Akure are urging the government to take concrete steps to ensure the safety and security of citizens, particularly farmers and vulnerable communities.

They are also demanding the immediate release of the kidnapped surveyors and justice for the slain farmers.
