The Yoruba Times gathered that the victim is said to be the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC), candidate for Abeokuta South Local Government Ward 15 in the forthcoming November 16 Local Government elections.

According to reports, the unidentified assailants arrived in a tinted car, shooting sporadically.
