The Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senior Chief Lekan Alabi, is set to celebrate his 74th birthday on October 27, 2024.

The event, taking place at his Akobo residence in Ibadan, will be attended by traditional rulers, youth leaders, and notable personalities from across the country.

According to Oloye Alabi, the celebration will be a low-key event due to the prevailing economic situation in the country.

He emphasized the need for collective support to aid the government’s efforts to revamp the economy.

“I urge the people to assist the government in whatever way possible to mitigate the effects of economic reforms and accelerate our collective relief and economic recovery,” he stated.

Oloye Alabi has had a distinguished career, serving the state in various capacities including the first Culture Ambassador of the National Museum and Monument, Ile-Ife and also the Chief Press Secretary to four former Governors of Oyo State (1983-1989)

Additionally, Oloye Alabi has also been the general manager of corporate services, investment companies.

The birthday celebration will provide an opportunity for leaders to converge and discuss ways to support the government’s economic revitalization efforts.

Oloye Alabi’s contributions to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole have been significant, and his 74th birthday celebration is expected to be a moment of reflection and appreciation for his service.
