The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Morocco will host the prestigious CAF Awards for the third year in a row. The ceremony, scheduled to take place on December 16, will honor the best performers in African football.

This marks a hat-trick for Morocco, following successful editions in 2022 at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora and 2023 at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech.

Although a specific venue for the 2024 edition has not been disclosed, Morocco’s proven track record in hosting the event ensures an exceptional experience for attendees.

The CAF Awards ceremony encompasses various categories, recognizing excellence in African football. The coveted African Player of the Year award, presented annually since 1992, is one of the most anticipated honors. Ghana’s Abedi Pele was the inaugural recipient, and past winners include iconic players such as Samuel Eto’o, Yaya Touré, and Mohamed Salah.

Other notable accolades includes African Women’s Player of the Year, National Team of the Year, Goal of the Year award among others.

The CAF Awards bring together football legends, coaches, players, and officials to celebrate African football’s achievements. Morocco’s hosting of the event for the third consecutive year underscores its commitment to promoting African football excellence.

CAF’s decision to return to Morocco reflects the country’s exceptional hospitality, infrastructure, and organizational capabilities. Football enthusiasts can expect an electrifying ceremony on December 16, as African football’s finest gather to honor outstanding achievements.
