Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has announced that President Bola Tinubu has approved the design and procurement of two major roads in the South-East, describing the development as history in the making.

In a post on his official X handle, Governor Soludo revealed that he met with President Tinubu on July 1, 2026, and was subsequently contacted by the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, to submit road proposals. On July 3, he sent the following roads:

  1. Otuocha–Anam–Abaji (Kogi) Road: About 108 kilometres to be dualised.
  2. Oba–Nnewi–Uga–Ihube (Okigwe Junction) Road: About 150 kilometres to be dualised, connecting Anambra/Imo to the Enugu–PH Road and passing through Abia.

“I can’t contain my joy and that of my people regarding the great news from DIKESIMBA Anambra; DIKESIMBA NDIGBO, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR!” Soludo wrote.

The governor noted that both roads are critical game-changers for the South-East, South-South, and North-Central regions. He praised President Tinubu for his commitment to reconstructing the South-East and addressing long-standing infrastructural neglect.

“This is why politics makes sense to me: working collaboratively and building alliances to achieve concrete results that improve the lives of the people,” Soludo added.
