President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Rotimi Pedro as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

Pedro, a seasoned broadcaster and media entrepreneur, is expected to bring fresh vision and innovation to the nation’s public broadcasting service. His appointment comes as part of the administration’s efforts to reposition government-owned media organizations for greater efficiency, credibility, and competitiveness in the digital era.

Before his appointment, Pedro had distinguished himself in the Nigerian media and entertainment industry, contributing significantly to the growth of sports broadcasting and television content development.

He takes over the leadership of NTA at a time when the station is seeking to expand its digital reach, strengthen programming quality, and reclaim its position as a leading broadcaster on the African continent.

The presidency noted that the appointment is with immediate effect.
