Super Eagles New Coach: At Last Final 3-Man Shortlist Emerges

April 19, 2024 1 min read

The search for a new Super Eagles coach will soon come to an end after the NFF technical committee recommended three coaches for the consideration of the executive committee.

Top on the list of those recommended is former African Footballer of the year, Emmanuel Amuneke, former Zambia coach Herve Rernard and another one.

This followed several hours of deliberation by the 8-man technical committee in Abuja on Thursday.

It is now expected that the NFF will shortly announce their choice for the top post.

A source said a painstaking process was done to ensure the interest of Nigeria was paramount in this decision.

β€œWe all have our interests but Nigeria should always come first” a source told ScoreNigeria.

β€œThe many interests this appointment has generated is unprecedented, but it also showed that football truly unites this country

β€œAnd whoever is eventually announced should get the support of all Nigerians, so that he can help bring the country some much-needed joy”, the source added.

The NFF Technical meeting started since 11:00am and came to a close about 6:00pm in the evening with the likes of Victor Ikpeba, Felix Owolabi and Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu in attendance.
