Senate Summons IGP, Service Chiefs Over Plateau Attacks

The Senate has called on all service chiefs to appear before it to explain the events that led to the deaths of nearly 200 Nigerians on the Plateau on Christmas eve.

The Nation reports that the house minority caucus had raised an alarm three days ago demanding for a halt in bloodletting in the state.

The caucus recommended that NASS employed every legislative tool at its disposal to stop the drift in the state of North-Central.

The chiefs summoned are Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Air Staff, Director-General DSS, Inspector-General of Police, and National Security Adviser.

Godswill Akpabio, the president of Senate, has announced that the invited chiefs would meet behind closed doors with the Senate to provide an explanation for the strike in Plateau State.
