According to reports, Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, has given instructions for the club to secure a new center-forward in order to replace Karim Benzema at Santiago Bernabeu. Benzema recently made a move to Al-Ittihad, leaving Real Madrid without a dependable number 9 striker.
In addition to Benzema’s departure, it is expected that Marco Asensio, who often served as Benzema’s backup, will also leave the club as a free agent.
Real Madrid is reportedly targeting two strikers to fill the void, namely Harry Kane from Tottenham and Kai Havertz from Chelsea, as stated in a report by Spanish online newspaper El Nacional.
Although both players are being considered, Perez and manager Carlo Ancelotti are believed to favor Kane over Havertz. However, securing Kane’s signing may prove challenging due to Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy’s belief that Real Madrid’s interest in Havertz is merely a tactic to lower the price of the English captain.
