The Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), also known as KAI, on Tuesday, conducted a raid on the streets of Lagos, seizing alcoholic beverages from drivers at Olupese Terminal Park and Oshodi-Bolade Garages.

The corps impounded alcoholic drinks from commercial drivers with the aim of enhancing road safety and maintain environmental order.

The Corps Marshal, Major Olaniyi Olatunbosun Cole (rtd), also issued a stern warning to street traders and hawkers.

He emphasized that street trading remains banned under the state’s environmental laws and vowed that the agency’s enforcement efforts will continue rigorously. Major Cole highlighted that violators who display goods on sidewalks, traffic areas, and other prohibited locations will face strict penalties.

The raid is part of the State Government’s broader initiative to address alcohol consumption among drivers, linked to increased motor accidents. LAGESC’s enforcement efforts will continue to target violators, ensuring a safer and more orderly environment in Lagos.
