Kwara Governor Visits Eruku After Military Takes Over Community

AbdulRazaq, on Wednesday arrived in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, following the takeover of the community by military personnel deployed in response to Tuesday’s attack.

The Governor visited the scene in the company of security chiefs and top government officials, addressing church members and assuring them of the joint efforts of his administration and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restore peace and stability to the area.

He stated that all necessary measures were being taken to safeguard residents, praising the swift response of the military and other security agencies. According to him, their presence has boosted public confidence and helped forestall further violence.

Governor AbdulRazaq urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security operatives as operations continue.

Meanwhile, the state government announced additional intelligence-gathering efforts, including collaboration with local vigilante groups and traditional rulers, to reinforce security across border communities in Kwara South.

The Governor reiterated that his administration will not relent until criminal elements threatening the peace of the state are completely flushed out.
