The Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted a massive quantity of smuggled arms and ammunition in Lagos, which are set to be handed over to the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW).

Although the exact number and value of the seized items have not been disclosed, the Customs Service has confirmed that the items were intercepted by its officers and men.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, is currently in Lagos, where he will address journalists at the Federal Operation Unit (FOU) Zone “A” in Ikeja.

This development is a significant milestone in the Customs Service’s efforts to curb the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in the country.
