INEC Mobilises 1.4 Million Corps Members for 2027 Elections – Largest Deployment in Nigeria’s History

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that over 1.4 million corps members will be deployed as ad hoc staff for the 2027 general elections. INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan revealed this during a visit to the NYSC headquarters in Abuja, confirming 707,384 for the January 16 presidential poll and another 707,384 for the February 6 state elections. He praised corps members as the backbone of Nigeria’s elections since 1999.
