Ekiti State with excitement as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abiodun Oyebanji have secured federal approval for the construction of two strategic highways.

The Ado-Ekiti-Ifaki-Ikole-Omuo-Kogi border and Ado-ABUAD-Ijan-Ilumoba roads will boost economic and cultural ties between Ekiti, Osun, Edo, Kogi, and Kwara states.

The Special Adviser to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode, hailed the Federal Executive Council’s decision as a “great relief” for Ekiti residents who have endured hardship on the roads.

Community leaders are praising the new partnership between Ekiti and the federal government, with Chief Raphael Agbana calling Governor Oyebanji a “great leader” who will “open up Ekiti in unimaginable ways.”

Governor Oyebanji’s persistent efforts, including frequent visits to Abuja, paved the way for this approval.

The State Government assures citizens that despite temporary inconveniences during construction, the project aligns with its shared prosperity agenda, prioritizing socio-economic and infrastructure development.

This development follows the ongoing Ado-Ikere-Akure road project, demonstrating President Tinubu’s support for the Oyebanji administration.

The Government has however urge motorists to exercise patience and understanding as Ekiti awaits the contractors’ arrival.
