Davido, the popular Afrobeat singer, has publicly condemned the Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Abba, for his handling of the ongoing political crisis in the state.

The crisis is rooted in the attempts by sacked local government chairmen, elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC), to reclaim their positions despite court rulings removing them from office.

Osun State, governed by Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is experiencing heightened tensions between members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC. Governor Adeleke has urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene and restrain his Minister, Gboyega Oyetola, from allegedly using security forces to reinstate the sacked chairmen.

The situation took a violent turn on Monday, February 17, 2025, as gunfire erupted across several local government secretariats when the dismissed chairmen and their supporters attempted to reclaim their offices.

Davido took to his social media handle to call out the Osun State police chief, accusing him of failing to uphold the rule of law.

In a series of strongly worded posts, Davido warned the commissioner against biased actions, stating, “Mr Commissioner, respect the rule of law!!! You are not madder or crazier than us!!”

He also labeled the commissioner “a disgrace to your children” and vowed to continue speaking out against him.
