Coalition of Pro-democracy Groups Holds Prayer Session for MKO Abiola

The Coalition Of Pro-democracy Groups in Nigeria, coordinated by Comrade Awamaridi Bamiji, has held a special prayer session for the repose of the soul of the country’s matyr for democracy, Bashorun Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, GCFR, and all the other victims of the June 12,1993 struggle for democracy.

The session, chaired by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Ọba (Dr) Senator Moshood Olalekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade 11, represented by Senior Chief ‘Lekan Alabi, Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland and the first Culture Ambassador of the National Museum and Monument, Ilé-Ifè, was held at MKO Abiola Family Home, Ikeja, Lagos State.

In his sermon at the ceremony, a lecturer at the Lagos State University(LASU), Professor Ishaq Lakin Akintola, recalled the heroic/philanthropic deeds of Bashorun Abiola all over the world and beseeched God to grant repose to the souls of Abiola and all the victims of the June 12,1993 struggle for freedom. He also prayed for divine guidance for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration as well as states governments across the country.

Guests were hosted by Alhaji Lekan Abiola, a son of the late Basorun Abiola, by the late Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, who was assassinated by suspected killer-gang of the late Nigerian military dictator, General Sani Abacha.
