Anti-June 12 Election Campaigner, Abimbola Davis, Dies at 67

Otunba Abimbola Davis, the controversial co-convener of the Association for Better Nigeria (ABN) with Late Chief Arthur Nzeribe, the group that championed the annulment of 1993 presidential election, aka June 12, presumably won by the Late Chief MKO Abiola, is dead.

He reportedly died Friday morning at his Ibadan residence.

The late Davis was said to have stayed till late in the night on Thursday at the Ibadan Golf Club, sharing banters with fellow club members.

Late Davis, according to information from fellow golfers, had just resumed back to the club in the last one month after a bout of illness that kept him away from the club.

He was very active politically and in the last presidential election, worked for the APC in atonement for the ignoble role played by his group in the past against Yoruba interest.

Burial arrangements will be announced by his family.
