The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of properties, including jewellery worth N4.6 billion and 11 exotic cars valued at N4.3 billion, linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu, who has been alleged in some reports to have a personal relationship with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Justice Jude Onwugbuzie granted the final forfeiture application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and dismissed Achimugu’s objections. The forfeited assets also include $50,000 and N30 million.

The ruling follows a previous order on March 25, 2026, when the court ordered the final forfeiture of $13 million linked to Achimugu and her firm, Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd. The EFCC had argued that the funds were proceeds of unlawful activity used to acquire oil blocks from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.

Achimugu’s lawyers had argued that the $13 million was from business earnings and gifts, but the EFCC rejected this claim, noting that she did not appear before the court to justify the funds. The EFCC also stated that part of the money originated from funds transferred by a state government to contractors for public projects, despite the absence of any contractual relationship with Oceangate.
