“He Claimed to Be a Jinn” – London Imam Jailed for Life for Raping Women, Girls After Using Black Magic Threats

A former east London imam, Abdul Halim Khan, has been jailed for life for sexually abusing seven women and girls over more than a decade. He was convicted of 21 offences including multiple rapes of children under 13.

Khan used his position as a trusted religious leader to access victims, claiming to be a “jinn” and using black magic threats to silence them. The abuse was exposed in 2018 when his youngest victim told a teacher.
