A former appointee in Ekiti State, Mr. Lustay, has reacted to his removal from office by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, describing the action as politically motivated.

In a statement, Lustay said he had already lost confidence in the administration before his dismissal, alleging that the Governor’s brother has assumed an undue influence in the running of government affairs.

He explained that he was on the verge of tendering his resignation when the Governor relieved him of his duties, attributing the decision to his open support for Engineer Kayode Ojo, a prominent political figure in the state.

β€œThis development does not come as a surprise. I had taken a position to leave the government because I no longer found it consistent with my values. My removal was simply accelerated by my decision to support Engineer Kayode Ojo,” he stated.

Political observers believe the development may signal growing tension within the ruling party as alignments ahead of the next election begin to take shape.
