President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to President John Mahama, the Government, and the people of the Republic of Ghana following the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several high-ranking officials.

Among the victims were Ghana’s Minister of Defence, Edward Omane Boamah; Minister of Environment, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed; and six others whose deaths have plunged the nation into mourning.

In a solemn message of solidarity, President Tinubu described the incident as a β€œpainful national tragedy”, emphasizing that the loss of such committed public servants is not only a grievous blow to Ghana but to the entire West African subregion.

President Tinubu conveyed the thoughts and prayers of the Government and people of Nigeria to their Ghanaian counterparts during this difficult period. He urged the bereaved families and citizens of Ghana to take solace in the fact that the departed dedicated their lives to the noble service of their country.

The President also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and asked for divine comfort and strength for their families and the people of Ghana.
