Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has paid a lasting tribute to the late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo by renaming The Polytechnic, Ibadan, in his honor.

The announcement was made on Thursday during an interdenominational commendation service for the late former governor, held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan.

According to Governor Makinde, “the institution will now be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.” This significant decision serves as a testament to Dr. Olunloyo’s enduring legacy in Oyo State, particularly in the education sector.

It’s noteworthy that Dr. Olunloyo served as the pioneer Rector of the institution, laying the foundation for its growth and development. Governor Makinde’s decision to rename the polytechnic after him is a fitting tribute to his legacy and contributions to the state.

The commendation service, which brought together leaders from various denominations, was a celebration of Dr. Olunloyo’s life and achievements.

Governor Makinde’s announcement was met with applause, as attendees acknowledged the late former governor’s impact on the state.

With this renaming, Oyo State continues to honor the memory of Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a revered figure in the state’s history.
