The Delhi police have apprehended Patrik, a 47-year-old Nigerian from Abia state, who has worked in several Bollywood films, along with his accomplice Shashikant Ravindra Prabhu from Maharashtra, for drug trafficking.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Surendra Choudhary, the arrests were made by a special team near Mahipalpur after a tip-off on April 26.

During the operation, 354 grams of drugs valued at approximately ₹30 lakh were seized, comprising 769 tablets.

A scooter allegedly used for drug delivery was also seized. Patrik, who arrived in India in 2008 on a business visa, stayed illegally after it expired.

He transitioned from working in Bollywood projects to drug abuse and eventually trafficking.

As per DCP Choudhary, “In 2019, Patrik was arrested for possession of heroin and spent three years in jail, during which he reportedly forged ties with other drug peddlers.

“After his release, Patrik shifted to supplying drugs across Delhi and NCR.”

The DCP added, “To expand operations, he roped in Prabhu, a carrier who was already under the scanner for his involvement in drug cases, including a significant charas seizure by the Narcotics Control Bureau in Mumbai.”

DCP Choudhary further stated, “Both were intercepted based on a tip-off on April 26.

The contraband was recovered following a cursory search.” The investigation is ongoing.
