Think Yoruba First (TYF), a youth driven sociocultural and sociopolitical organization, has issued a public statement condemning the recent killings across the middle belt and southern regions of Nigeria.

A copy of the press statement was sent to The Yoruba Times.

The statement, dated April 19, 2025, expressed deep sadness and outrage over the relentless attacks carried out by Fulani herders, resulting in the deaths of over 40 people in Plateau State alone.

According to the statement, “These atrocities are not isolated incidents but part of a sustained campaign of terror going on for over a decade now”

TYF lamented the lack of prosecution despite eyewitnesses and survivors identifying the attackers, which has eroded public trust in the government.

The group called on the Nigerian Government to “conduct thorough and transparent investigations, apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators, improve the security of affected communities.”

Specifically, the southwest region is seeking proper arming of the Amotekun security outfit.

“We call on the Nigerian government to compensate the families and communities,” the statement added.

“May Olodumare continue to bless the Nation!” TYF mentioned .
