Bees Attack: Farmer killed, two others Injured In Osun

A tragic incident occurred on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Olobe Farm in Igbajo, Osun State, where a farmer was killed by a swarm of bees, and two others were critically injured.

The victim, identified as Mr. Abideen Olabiyi of Alalade compound Ada, lost his life in the attack.

According to a police situation report from the Otan Ayegbaju Division, the incident happened when three brothers, including the victim, went to the farm.

The report stated, “Today Friday 18/04/2025 X SUD X at about 1645 HRS X there was a complaint from one Babasanjo Alalade M X of Alalade compound Ada X Osun State X he stated that today X three of his brothers went to farm X one Abideen Olabiyi M X Mr. Solomon Kingsley X and Chief Olusegun Alalade x all of Alalade compound Ada X went to the farm in Olobe Farm Igbajo.”

The report further explained that “On getting to the farm they were attacked by bunch of bees X and as a result x Mr. Abideen Olabiyi (M) X lost his life x while the other two victims managed to escape with their lives.”

The two injured persons, Mr. Solomon Kingsley and Chief Olusegun Alalade, are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

The police visited the scene, took photographs, and removed the corpse, which was deposited at the Healthy Paradise Mortuary Ikirun for autopsy.

The report concluded, “detectives mine visited the scene X photograph taken X corps removed and deposited at Healthy Paradise Mutuary Ikirun for autopsy while the other two victims were rushed to undisclosed hospital at Ada for treatment x for your information sir X From Supol Otan Ayegbaju Division.”
