NDLEA nab Orizu Ifeanyi, 48-year old drug kingpin with 74 wraps of heroine and cocaine at Abuja airport

Another major arrest was made in fight against drug trafficking in Nigeria as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested a 48-year-old businessman, Orizu Ifeanyi Arthur, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The suspect, who claimed to be a trader and businessman was caught with a large quantity of drugs, including 74 wraps of heroin and cocaine, while attempting to board a flight to Paris.

According to the NDLEA, Orizu was arrested during the screening of passengers on an Ethiopian Airlines flight.

The agency’s operatives discovered the drugs concealed in his luggage.

During interrogation, Orizu claimed that he owns a shop at Balogun market, Lagos Island, where he sells school and travelling bags.

He allegedly confessed that he was promised 3,000 Euros upon successful delivery of the consignment in Paris.

The NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism.

He reiterated the agency’s commitment to ridding Nigeria of illicit drugs and their purveyors.

This arrest is a significant milestone in the NDLEA’s efforts to curb the trafficking of illicit drugs in Nigeria.

The agency has been working tirelessly to disrupt the supply chain of drugs and bring perpetrators to justice.

The NDLEA has appealed to members of the public to continue to support the agency’s efforts by providing information on suspected drug traffickers and their activities.
